Acrylic: AFA

acrylicAFA is an optically clear conformal coating ideally suited for use as an LED coating or in other commercial applications. AFA boasts superb properties, maintaining excellent clarity, with minimal colour temperature shift after prolonged UV exposure making it a superb choice for an LED coating application. While it also provides excellent protection in humid environments, and flexibility over a wide operating temperature range.

AFA also contains a UV trace, which allows inspection of the PCB after coating to ensure complete and even coverage and may be removed for rework using solvents such as Electrolube’s ULS.

AFA is also available in pre-mixed versions for atomised spray applicators (AFA-S) and in line selective coating machines and non-atomised film coating applicators (AFA-F).

HPA

HPA is a high performance acrylic conformal coating specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of applications such as the defence and aerospace industries. HPA is fast drying and flexible while maintaining excellent characteristics in the most challenging of environments.

HPA has a transparent finish which maintains optical clarity making it a good choice for LEDs operating in harsh environments.

We also provide HPASP which has been specifically formulated to provide a viscosity between 60-100mPa s for use in selective coating and spray equipment. Choosing HPASP can improve production efficiency by eliminating the need to use thinners.

Polyurethane

pucPUC is a clear amber modified Polyurethane Conformal Coating, specifically designed for the protection of electronic circuitry. PUC is tough and has excellent mechanical and dielectric properties while maintaining flexibility to protect delicate components.

PUC can be sprayed, dipped or brushed. The thickness of the coating depends on the method of application (typically 25-75 microns). Temperatures of less than 16ºC or relative humidity in excess of 75% are unsuitable for the application of PUC.
